The Website
After my long-cherished wish to publish Walter Rutt's story in book form had been dashed for financial reasons, I decided in the summer of 2005 to create a website for him.
On November 13, 2005, the website was published under the domain “walterruett.de.” Nine weeks later, it appeared for the first time in the results of the Google search engine.
A first fundamental redesign took place in 2011, followed by another relaunch in 2016.
In order to enable the ever-growing number of visitors using mobile devices to view the website properly, it was converted to responsive design in 2021.
During the last update (December 2025), the font was changed in all text passages to improve readability.
Europe's leading bike magazine, TOUR,
featured the Walter Rütt website in March 2011.
