Mysterious exhibit
Many years ago, an exhibit was added to the collection that still raises questions today. It is a model of a bicycle.
The delicate object was made of thin wire. It is 11 cm wide, 7 cm high, and partly covered with colored plastic sleeves. The cranks can be rotated in the bottom bracket.
The cover image of the accompanying box shows Walter Rutt with some of these model bikes. The transparent display stand visible in the photo is missing from the exhibit shown here.
Whether the bikes were made by him personally or whether he only served as an advertising medium for them is as unknown as the manner in which they were sold.
Two examples are known to exist today. It is noteworthy that both boxes bear a handwritten dedication from “Krücke". Was he perhaps the manufacturer?
